Addictions Counselor
Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking an Addictions Counselor. Candidates MUST have Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) AND a current certification from NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).

The work shift for this role is Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm. Potential for shift flexibility depending on the needs of the department.
Key Elements Of
The Role:
- Interviews and screens individuals for supportive counseling;
- Plans, implements and evaluates an individualized treatment plan for each patient;
- Monitors patient progress and makes recommendations for further treatment if necessary;
- Provides individual and group counseling services;
- Maintains patient records and reports;
- Collaborates with supervisors and clinic staff regarding patient progress and patient services;
- May conduct education and information sessions, workshops, and training programs for individuals with substance use disorders and members of their community

Starting Salary: $49,642

Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must either have a current certification from NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC),
- OR possession of the requirements necessary to be designated as a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) with one year of experience or satisfactory completion of a training program in the treatment of substance use disorders.
