Requirement:
New York State Certification as a School Psychologist, Special Education Teacher, or Social Worker is required. OR meet the minimum qualifications under Civil Service:
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field. Additionally, certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is preferred.
Description:
Responsible for interventions to support the academic, behavioral and social development of students throughout the district. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of crisis intervention, culturally responsive practices, and proficiency in developing and monitoring behavioral assessments, behavioral analysis, and intervention plans. The behavior specialist will collaborate with teachers, school teams and families. The specialist reports to the Director of Special Education.
