Location: New York
Position Overview
Title: Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) – Telehealth Outpatient Nutrition Counseling (PRN)
Location: Fully virtual / telehealth (primarily Eastern Standard Time; offshore time zones welcome for evening coverage)
Schedule: Minimum of 15 hours per week with flexible, PRN availability. Opportunity to increase hours.
Compensation: $55 to $60 per hour.
Role Responsibilities- Provide telehealth medical nutrition therapy, focusing on pregnancy and gestational diabetes (GDM).
- Assess nutritional health of patients with attention to prenatal needs, blood sugar regulation, and hormone‑related conditions.
- Monitor and review daily blood glucose logs for GDM patients, providing timely feedback and adjustments.
- Educate patients on proper use of glucose meters and monitoring techniques.
- Develop and modify individualized nutrition care plans emphasizing glycemic control during pregnancy.
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with referring physicians and healthcare providers.
- Implement Simplex Health protocols and materials in patient care.
- Document all appointments in the Healthie platform with strong attention to detail.
- Respond to all patient communications promptly and supportively.
- Communicate openly and effectively to resolve work‑related issues or conflicts.
- Proactively contribute to team collaboration and support team decisions.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Stay current with emerging research in women’s health, prenatal nutrition, and diabetes care.
- Manage a full and consistent patient caseload, ensuring timely follow‑ups and optimal outcomes.
- Maintain the minimum weekly availability and grow into a higher‑hour or full‑time schedule as caseload expands.
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in outpatient or clinical nutrition care.
- Strong interest or experience in prenatal nutrition, GDM, or hormone‑related conditions.
- Current registration with the Council of the Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Minimum 15 hours of weekly availability; willingness to increase hours over time.
- Credentialed or willing to become credentialed with insurance companies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic health records (Healthie preferred).
- Patent‑diligent and compliant with privacy regulations.
- Evening appointment availability to meet patient demand.
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification.
- IFNA Certified (IFNCP or ongoing training).
- Prior experience supporting pregnant patients or managing GDM.
- Structured onboarding and training.
- Case reviews and clinical collaboration.
- Real‑time team chat and peer support.
- Team meetings and shared learning opportunities.
- Full management of insurance credentialing and licensing processes.
- Ramp‑up to full‑time salaried schedule as caseload grows.
- Flexible scheduling with ability to adjust based on availability.
- Supplement commission: 12.5% on purchases via Fullscript.
