Procedural Technician - Big Flats Surgical Center - Part Time

Job Title

Aids the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Position Summary:

Aids the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Education, License & Cert:

High school graduate or equivalent preferred. BLS within 1 year

Experience:

Previous patient care and some medical background preferred

Essential Functions:

1. Under direction of the physician and Registered Nurse assists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to provide optimal patient outcomes.

2. Recognizes risk factors and complications related to the procedures.

3. Competent in all equipment/supplies used for each procedure and able to troubleshoot if any issues.

4. Maintains all equipment/supplies to include:

a. Prepare/set up for procedures

b. Cleaning and disinfecting after procedures

c. Stocking rooms with supplies

d. Pulling equipment/supplies for upcoming procedures.

5. Performs basic aseptic technique.

6. Follows standard precautions and utilizes disease specific guidelines as per CDC.

7. Adheres to policies and procedures as it relates to dress attire and universal protocol.

Other Duties:

1. Consistently shows good judgement by showing appreciation of cost and quality.

Pay Range $17.00 - $22.82/hour, DOE
