Dietary Cook Major Duties and Critical Tasks

Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff in accordance with food safety regulations and within physician’s/nutritionists’ dietary recommendations
Maintain high standards of food preparation, sanitation, storage, and portion control
Determine food and supplies needed for daily menus; obtain supplies in time for adequate production
Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve quality, temperature, and appearance of food
Assist in scheduled cleaning duties following established sanitary standards

Dietary Cook Other Duties

Participates in departmental studies and projects as assigned
Represents the facility at and participates in meetings as required
Assists in standardizing work methods
Performs other essential functions and duties as assigned

Dietary Cook Qualifications

Must be at least eighteen (18) years old
Knowledge of Department of Health Rules and Regulations
At least 1 year of experience in a related position
