Position Overview
Dr. Xiaoting Wu’s lab at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (NYC) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team. Our lab ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) explores how neural population dynamics, neural circuit, and synaptic plasticity support social cognitive behaviors including social memory and decision-making. To tackle these questions, we take a multidisciplinary approach that spans molecular, synaptic, and systems neuroscience using techniques such as optogenetics, miniscope imaging, slice electrophysiology, and single-cell transcriptomics.
QualificationsWe are looking for candidates with a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience or a related field.
- Molecular techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing
- Synaptic physiology, including patch-clamp electrophysiology
- Behavioral neuroscience, particularly using optogenetics or in vivo imaging
- Computational approaches to neural data analysis and modeling
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package along with subsidized housing in Manhattan.
Mount Sinai offers a collaborative and well-equipped research environment. The Friedman Brain Institute comprises a vibrant neuroscience and biomedical community which also benefits from strong connections to institutions across New York. Postdocs will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and interdisciplinary collaborations in areas such as systems biology, genomics, and computational neuroscience. Individualized mentorship will support scientific growth, grant development, and long‑term career advancement.
