We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated Assistant Sterilization Specialist to join our growing clinical support team.
In this role, you'll play a critical part in protecting patient safety by ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for daily clinical use. You'll work alongside providers and clinical staff in a collaborative healthcare environment where your attention to detail directly impacts the quality of patient care.

Don't have a Sterile Processing certification? That's okay! If you have experience sterilizing instruments in a medical office, dental practice, clinic, or hospital, we encourage you to apply. We value hands-on experience, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize medical instruments, equipment, and supplies following established infection prevention and Standard Precautions guidelines.
- Operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, and perform routine testing to ensure proper functionality.
- Monitor biological and chemical indicators to verify the effectiveness and consistency of sterilization procedures.
- Prepare sterilized instruments and supplies for examination and treatment rooms.
- Ensure all sterilization procedures meet organizational and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sterilization work area.
- Ensure examination rooms are stocked with properly sterilized instruments and necessary supplies.
- Monitor inventory of sterilization supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, and clinical staff to support efficient patient care.
- Communicate effectively regarding equipment availability, workflow priorities, and operational needs.
- Assist with additional departmental responsibilities as assigned.
- Follow all OSHA, infection prevention, and Ezra Medical Center safety standards.
- Adhere to Ezra Medical Center's compliance program, policies, and procedures.
- Report any conduct or event that may violate legal or compliance requirements.
- Uphold Ezra's values of integrity, teamwork, compassion, and excellence in patient care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Sterile Processing Technician training or certification is a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience sterilizing instruments in a medical office, dental office, clinic, ambulatory surgery center, or hospital is preferred.
- Candidates with hands-on sterilization experience are encouraged to apply, even if they do not hold a formal Sterile Processing certification.
