Per Diem Ultrasound Technician

Role Overview

We are seeking a Faculty Group Practice Ultrasound Technician - Per Diem responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic examinations using ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record anatomical, pathological, and functional data. The technician operates ultrasound machines, ensures quality imaging, and provides guidance to ultrasound students.

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce accurate images in various modalities.
• Assess patient information, follow departmental protocols, and verify patient identity.
• Schedule exams, review requisitions, and communicate with medical staff for clarification.
• Explain procedures to patients and adapt exams based on patient conditions.
• Perform equipment quality control, identify malfunctions, and ensure safe operation.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate ultrasound students during clinical training.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety protocols, including isolation precautions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Certificate from an approved ultrasound/vascular technology program.
• Registered or eligible to take ARDMS exam within one year.
• Minimum of five years ultrasound experience.
• Preferred: ARDMS certification, Vascular Technologist registration, bilingual skills (Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin).
• Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
