Team members work in community-based settings, supporting a diverse client population and collaborating with families and care coordinators to deliver consistent, quality care.

Role Description The Person al Care Aide (PCA) — Queens, NY role at Advantage Home Care NYC is a full-time, on-site position located in Brooklyn, NY, serving clients in Queens and surrounding areas. The PCA is responsible for assisting clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support. Daily duties may include helping with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and reminders for medication, as well as accompanying clients to appointments or community activities as needed.

The role involves monitoring client well-being, reporting changes in condition to supervisors, and following individualized care plans to promote safety and comfort. PCAs are expected to build respectful, supportive relationships with clients and their families while maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to agency policies.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess PCA certification and experience providing Personal Care Services and Personal Care support in home or community settings.
  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact effectively with clients, families, and care teams.
  • Ability to follow care plans, observe and report changes in client status, and work reliably with minimal direct supervision.
  • Commitment to person-centered care, respect for diverse backgrounds, and maintaining client dignity and confidentiality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in home care, elder care, or disability services is beneficial.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including assisting with transfers and mobility, and to pass required background checks and health screenings.
