Dietetic Technician Part Time
The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY is seeking part time Dietetic Technician to join our team in our skilled nursing facility. A vital and important part of the team you will provide and nutrition services that are essential to the residents' health, happiness & wellbeing.
Job Specifications- Schedule includes working weekdays on the 12:00pm-8:00pm shift, and on alternating weekends with a shift of 7:00am-6:00pm.
- Work collaboratively with our clinical dietary, food service, and the rest of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Diet Techs work collaboratively with the dietary, food and nutrition services, and the rest of the interdisciplinary care team to assist in providing outstanding care to our patients and residents.
- Receives, verifies and maintains accuracy of all diet orders
- Gives menus to new admissions
- Retrieves communication sheets
- Modifies resident/patient menus according to therapeutic needs
- Assists residents/patients with menus as needed
- Enters menus into Geri Menu, nutrition computer program
- Posts weekly menus on units
- Prints and separates daily meal tickets

- Associate's Degree in Food and Nutrition
- Prior experience in long term care environment strongly preferred
- Will be friendly and sociable and be able to provide comfort to patients with good interpersonal skills - both verbal and in writing
