Position Overview

SUNY Niagara is seeking a part-time instructor for its Radiologic Technology Program. The instructor will provide instruction and evaluation in didactic, lab, or clinical settings depending on program need. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining course syllabi, supervising lab and clinical practice, and reporting to the Program Coordinator. Remuneration is $1,008 per lecture hour and $903 per lab hour for teaching at least 3 credits in a semester.

  • Provide instruction and evaluation in accordance with college and program policies to achieve student learning outcomes.
  • In didactic settings, prepare and maintain course syllabi and work with the Program Coordinator to review course materials as needed.
  • In lab and clinical settings, supervise and evaluate students, ensuring safe radiation protection practices in accordance with ALARA.
  • Maintain records of lab and clinical time and competency evaluations.
  • Participate in program assessment.
  • Adhere strictly to the American Society of Radiologic Technologists’ Code of Ethics.
Essential Functions
  • Work with and teach a diverse student population.
  • Communicate effectively with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus community.
  • Develop, prepare, and present instructional information.
  • Operate computers and adapt instruction in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology.
  • Two (2) years recent practice in the radiologic technology field.
  • Proficient in instruction and evaluation in classroom, lab, and clinical environments.
  • Current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current license in radiologic technology from the New York State Department of Health.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Proficient in supervision, instruction, and evaluation.
  • Previous teaching experience at a community college or university.
