Support Worker ​/ Caregiver

We are a family-directed support team helping Jenny, a 38-year-old woman who is neurologically impaired, live independently in her own apartment in the Northwest Bronx. Her impairment affects Jenny's central nervous system and impacts her balance and mobility. She uses a power wheelchair and requires supervision and spotting during walking and transfers.

The role of her support team is to help create a safe environment while promoting independence, dignity, and community participation.

Our team includes artists, dancers, caregivers, educators, and other thoughtful individuals who value creativity, collaboration, and meaningful human connection. Together, we work to support Jenny in leading a rich, active, and self-directed life in her community.

The overnight shift is currently our most immediate need. Jenny generally sleeps through the night, though occasional assistance with repositioning or bathroom needs may be required. During the evening portion of the shift, support with meal preparation, grocery planning, light housekeeping, and administrative tasks is especially helpful. Once Jenny is settled for the night, the remainder of the shift is typically quiet.

This is not simply a fill-in position. We are seeking people interested in becoming part of a stable, long-term support network. Additional hours and responsibilities are available based on interest, availability, and commitment.
