** Medical Assistant - Urology

* Location:

Brooklyn, NY
**** Hours/Days: 5/ 8.5 Hour Shifts;
Monday - Friday (7a-6p)
**** Organization:
New York Health (NYH) - Urology
**** In this role, you will:**
* ** Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.**
* ** Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.**
* ** Record patients' vital signs.**
* ** Prepare patients for examinations.**
* ** Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.**
* ** Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.**
* ** Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.**
* ** Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.**
* ** Other duties as assigned.
**** We require:**
* ** A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma**
* ** Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)**
* ** Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)**
* ** Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching**
* ** Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids**
* ** Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.**
* ** Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
