Montefiore Medical Center's Division of Clinical Pathology is responsible for the laboratory testing of blood, urine, and body fluids for disease diagnosis and health maintenance. Utilizing the latest advances in computer technology, the Division maintains millions of dollars of state-of-the-art automated equipment at its laboratory sites and services hospitals, nursing homes, the Montefiore Medical Group, faculty practices, and voluntary physicians' offices at more than 40 sites.
For research purposes, performs a variety of duties of a cytotechnologist such as screening and marking of a broad variety of diagnostic material. In addition, is capable of performing sophisticated analysis of data and assisting in the performance of complex computer systems in the research laboratory.
Responsibilities- Research analysis - Create CD-ROM based analysis system.
- Understand principles of operation teaching Cytotechnologists.
- Organize research analysis and maintain records ensuring correct review and analysis and record retention required for grant and company support.
- Perform statistical analysis and correlation data studies, analyze statistics and prepare data for publication.
- Maintain computer hardware and software needed to develop project keeping systems functional.
- New York State Department of Education Cytotechnologist license required.
- Training in cytotechnology approved by American Society of Clinical Pathology required.
- BA or BS degree in medical technology or life sciences required;
Master's degree preferred. - Proficiency in CD-ROM based analysis systems.
- Knowledge of computer skills.
This position is located in Cytopathology lab at the Moses campus. The hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm with alternate Weekends.
