OverviewThis position will supervise all daily operational processes and resources (employee and supply) using a lean philosophy to ensure efficiency, consistent improvement and lean financial operation. Responsible for the supervision and direction of registration, insurance verification, data collection and front-end processing of cash collection. Acts as a patient advocate for patient concerns. Monitors waiting times for patients, communicating consistently to them.
Supports and resolves physicians' operational needs while in session.
- Assist the administration in the provision of the Unified Department Administrator and support to the department in alignment with the mission of the department and that of medical center.
- Oversee Operations team including secretaries, NPs, surgical supervisor in the department.
- Enhance staff development, productivity and training.
- Monitor the registration process of clerical associates.
- Ensure that staff is collecting all necessary authorizations and referrals. Administer departmental deferral policy.
- Responsible for daily cash collections and ensuring that payments are collected at point of service, secured, reconciled, posted and deposited in a timely manner.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department to resolve employee conflict and ensure that customer satisfaction is kept and patient complaints are addressed.
- Attend meetings and join teams, which will benefit the staff, department and customers.
- Identify systemic and/or recurrent problems and make recommendations on proposed resolution to Operations Manager.
- Staffing Schedule Coordination.
- Responsible for recruiting, terminating, performance evaluations and issuing disciplinary notice to associates when appropriate.
- Maintain proper inventory of medical and office supplies.
- Work closely with support staff to expedite and improve patient flow.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically EPIC or related EHR.
- Ability to address physical and emotional needs of adult, geriatric, and pediatric patient populations; ability to meet patients' needs and ensure patient satisfaction.
- Knowledge of insurance company interactions, referrals and authorizations.
