Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech
Department: Peri-Operative
Location: Clifton Springs Hospital - 2 Coulter Road
Clifton Springs, NY 14432
Hours Per Week: Per Diem
Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays 7 am - 3:30 pm no weekends/ no holidays
ATTRIBUTES
Qualifies through one of the following:
Credentialed:
Successfully passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds and maintains one of the following credentials:- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician credential
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician credential
- Hard to Fill Clause: A healthcare facility may employ or otherwise contract with a person who does not meet the requirements of the function of a Sterile Processing Technician if they are unable to employ or contract a sufficient number of qualified Sterile Processing Technicians
- Grand-fathering Clause:
Must provide evidence of employment or contract services as a Central Service Technician in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring between 1/1/2011 – 1/1/2015 - Strong attention to detail with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing. Responsible for processing and supplying sterile goods and equipment to all areas within the hospital, including decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distribution
- Sterilization. Ensure appropriate supplies are used in the process of sterilizing items; collect and clean soiled equipment, machines, carts and shelves
- Distribution. Transport needed supplies, medication and equipment throughout the hospital
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: H
- Heavy Work
- Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- CRCST
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician
- International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM)
PAY RANGE: $20.75 - $25.00
