Assistant Manager

Ohel is seeking a reliable, personable individual who has the ability to multi-task to fill the Assistant Manager in our exciting Day Habilitation Program in the Five Towns. In this role you will create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every individual can thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the direct supervisor to develop volunteer and skill-building opportunities that foster independence, enhance personal growth, and support individual goals.
• Assist in the day-to-day functioning of a Day Habilitation Program, including arranging transportation
• Maintain and organize program supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available and appropriately stocked to support planned activities and needs
• Provide support to staff and individuals as needed, including implementing positive behavior strategies that promote safety
• Train, mentor, and supervise program staff
• Build positive relationships with families and collaborating programs
• Lead engaging activities that foster independent living skills
• Accompany participants to volunteer sites and community activities
• Review documentation and ensure timely follow-up

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred
• Valid NY or NJ driver's license with the ability to drive a 15-passenger van strongly preferred
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Position includes a competitive benefits package that includes a 403B retirement plan, sick and vacation paid time off (PTO) and health insurance. Eligibility for all benefits is based on hours worked, employment classification, and fulfillment of applicable waiting periods and plan requirements. This full time position is located in the Five Towns.

Salary: $50,000- $55,000
