Job Description

The Department of Clinical Laboratories at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Lab Technologist / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist 3. The successful candidate will:

  • Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations, and any other tests or procedures conducted by the Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.
  • Have working knowledge of routine instrumentation and methodology used in Clinical Hematology and Chemistry:
  • Specific familiarization with Blood Gases, Olympus, and Architect instruments preferred
  • Have good knowledge of quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Chemistry and Hematology methodologies and instruments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and collaboration to perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as needed and/or required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Physical, or Biological Science.
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP certification
