Position: Direct Support Professional (WOW Program)
Location: New York

Cardinal Hayes Home for Children is seeking a Direct Support Professional!

As the Direct Support Professional, you will provide transportation, daily care, training, supervision, and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a Day Habilitation/ Prevocational Day Program. This includes hands-on physical care and/or assistance with activities of daily living, and implementing teaching programs, behavior plans, and habilitation plans to help individuals accomplish their program goals.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8 am - 3:30 pm

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is desired
  • Experience with working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Must have the physical ability to perform physical interventions if necessary
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Minimal proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a positive relationship/rapport with individuals receiving services
  • Provide physical care, including toileting, assisting with hygiene and feeding, and observing health status
  • Implement training programs and promote development toward independence

    Provide recreational and social development activities
  • Collect and record data accurately and timely
  • Ensure health and safety of individuals
  • Provide a clean and orderly physical environment
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings
