Job Description
The Department of Perioperative Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem TH CTS Endoscopy Associate. The successful candidate will:
- Assist in the setup of the procedural room.
- Assemble necessary supplies and instruments for the gastrointestinal procedures.
- Perform hand hygiene as required.
- Establish and maintain the procedural space.
- Assist with the preparation of the patient undergoing a gastrointestinal procedure.
- Actively participate in the patient verification process and all processes associated with the safety of the procedural patient.
- Confirm and ensure the high-level disinfection of all procedural scopes.
- Assist with all infection prevention measures.
- Assist with patient safety measures including those associated with reducing the risk of infection as well as care and handling of specimens.
- Assist with the cleaning of the procedure room, post procedure and at end of day.
- Assist with the maintenance of supplies necessary for gastrointestinal procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance of equipment necessary for gastrointestinal procedures.
- Maintain proficiency and competency of usage of all gastrointestinal equipment and supplies.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of relevant endoscopy clinical experience
- Or completion of an approved surgical technology program.
- Completion and maintenance of required continuing education requirements.
- Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training to the above.
