Thriving Center of Psychology () is a group practice with psychologists, psychiatrists, and independently licensed mental health professionals. We are committed to delivering evidence‑based treatments and maintaining the highest standards of clinical care. At Thriving Center, we recognize that exceptional client outcomes are achieved through supporting our clinicians' professional growth and well‑being. Our collaborative team values community, culture, and integrated care delivery, contributing to our recognition as one of the top private practices in the country.

A Clinical Lead Psychologist is a role designed for experienced clinicians who are passionate about mentorship, collaboration, and leadership development while continuing to maintain meaningful clinical work. Clinical Lead Psychologists serve as trusted peer leaders within a small pod of clinicians, helping strengthen clinical quality, team connection, and operational consistency across the practice.

We’re looking for clinician leaders who are deeply passionate about providing exceptional clinical care and energized by supporting the growth and development of other therapists. The ideal candidate values mentorship, collaboration, and the opportunity to help strengthen the clinical skills, confidence, and impact of those around them.

In this role, you will partner closely with leadership, contribute to shaping practice culture and systems, and play an active role in supporting clinicians professionally while continuing to grow your own leadership skillset as you maintain your own caseload.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain an Active Caseload — Provide direct client care while fulfilling pod leadership duties, modeling the clinical standards expected of all pod members.
  • Clinical Leadership & Peer Support — Serve as a first‑line support and consultation resource for clinicians within your pod; help foster a collaborative, psychologically safe, and growth‑oriented team culture; support clinicians in navigating complex clinical situations, client escalations, and workflow challenges; reinforce evidence‑based care and strong clinical standards through mentorship and consultation.
  • Operational & Caseload Support — Help clinicians maintain consistent scheduling practices that support continuity of care and sustainable caseload management; support therapists in maintaining timely and high‑quality documentation aligned with practice standards; identify patterns related to burnout risk, scheduling barriers, or operational inefficiencies and collaborate with leadership proactively; assist with onboarding and integration of new clinicians into workflows, systems, and culture.
  • Leadership Collaboration — Partner with Clinical Managers and leadership on quality initiatives, systems improvement, and practice development; participate in leadership meetings and collaborative problem‑solving discussions; help strengthen communication, accountability, and consistency across the pod structure.
  • On‑Call Coverage — Provide on‑call support after regular business hours as needed to support clinical care.
  • Cross‑Country Support — Ability to support providers that work in Pacific, Central, and Eastern time zones as needed.
Qualifications
  • Active independent licensure in New York (Ph.D., Psy.D., or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of post‑licensure experience
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence‑based care
  • Natural leadership, mentorship, and interpersonal skills; prior experience in a supervisory, lead clinician, or peer consultation role preferred
  • Ability to balance warmth, accountability, and professionalism
  • Comfort navigating evolving systems within a growing organization
  • Experience in outpatient or private practice settings preferred
