At Alcoa, you will become an essential part of our purpose: to turn raw potential into real progress. The way we see it, every Alcoan is a work-shaper, team-shaper, idea-shaper & world-shaper.

Shape your world by supporting a safe, responsive Occupational Health clinic at Alcoa.

In this role, you will help employees navigate clinic services, prepare accurate records, coordinate appointments and medical surveillance activities, and provide calm, professional support in a manufacturing environment where safety, clear communication, and accountability matter every day.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour lunch.

Occupational Health within the Environmental, Health and Safety group.

About

The Role

As a Medical Technician in our Occupational Health clinic, you will help keep daily clinic operations organized and employee-focused. You will support scheduling, phone calls, paperwork, chart preparation, faxing, copying, scanning, documentation, and clinic flow so the RN can focus on hands-on clinical work. You will report through Occupational Health/EHS leadership and receive training from the RN, while also interacting with safety professionals and the industrial hygienist to coordinate medical surveillance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily clinic flow, including scheduling, employee check-ins, occupational health exams, medical surveillance appointments, and follow-up documentation.
  • Serve as a professional first point of contact for employees, visitors, HR, supervisors, healthcare providers, and EHS partners by phone and in person.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, charts, forms, injury report documentation, and compliance-related paperwork with attention to confidentiality and detail.
  • Support basic clinical services after training, such as vital signs, screenings, specimen collection, first aid support, and other clinic activities within established protocols.
  • Recognize when an employee situation or injury needs escalation to the RN, physician, or appropriate support resource, especially when the RN is not on site.
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment, including supplies, inventory, equipment readiness, and other duties needed to support safe, efficient clinic operations.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through to manage a high volume of administrative work independently.
  • Experience in a medical, occupational health, clinic, nursing home, doctor's office, CNA, nurse assistant, or similar patient-facing setting where you supported patients, employees, or the public.
  • Comfort performing or learning basic clinical tasks, including vital signs, first aid support, screenings, specimen collection, and injury-report paperwork.
  • Sound judgment to identify when a situation needs escalation and the confidence to ask questions or involve the RN, physician, or support team when appropriate.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills, including the ability to stay calm and respectful when working with frustrated or difficult individuals.
  • CPR/First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen training preferred or ability to obtain; ability to obtain CAOHC hearing conservation and NIOSH spirometry certifications as needed.
The Environment You Will Support

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys being organized, helpful, and proactive in a clinic setting. You should be comfortable working around routine clinic situations, including blood, illness, or minor injury scenarios, and able to follow Alcoa clinic protocols rather than outside emergency response protocols. Success in this role requires taking accountability, communicating clearly and effectively, prioritizing and executing daily work, and helping drive a safe, inclusive, and collaborative environment.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation packages, including pay-for-performance variable pay, recognition and rewards programs.
  • 401(k), employer match up to 6%, additional employer retirement income contribution (no vesting period)
  • Healthcare benefits: medical, Rx, dental, vision, flexible spending account, health savings account (generous employer contribution), life and accident insurance
