Activities Assistant

Ozanam Hall of Queens Nursing Home seeks an Activities Assistant to support meaningful, person-centered programs for elderly residents in our Catholic, not-for-profit skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. In this role, you will help plan and lead recreational, social, and spiritual activities that promote engagement, dignity, and quality of life. Working closely with nursing, therapy, and pastoral care teams, you will encourage participation, adapt activities to residents' abilities, and provide compassionate support during group and one-on-one programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead individual and group recreational, social, and spiritual activities for residents
• Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to varying abilities and interests
• Assist residents with transport to and from activity areas safely and courteously
• Document attendance, engagement, and resident responses to activities
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and pastoral care to support person-centered care plans
• Help prepare and maintain activity rooms, materials, and equipment
• Support special events, holidays, and family programs in the facility
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and volunteers to promote dignity and inclusion
• Follow all safety, infection control, and organizational policies
• Contribute to a compassionate, faith-based, mission-driven team culture
