Location: New York

The College Aide will support the BPHC Advisory Group Coordinator in the planning, coordination, and facilitation of BPHC's quarterly Patient Advisory Group meetings, along with related work supporting BPHC's advisory groups more broadly. Each quarter, a newly recruited cohort of patients from a designated DOHMH clinic meets to provide structured feedback on clinic services, proposed programs, and communication materials. This role offers hands-on experience in community engagement, public health administration, and stakeholder communication within a NYC government setting.

This role will require up to 25 hours per week, depending on the meeting cycle and Advisory Group Coordinator needs. The College Aid must be currently enrolled as a Graduate student. COLLEGE AIDE (ALL CITY DEPTS) - 10209

  • Support meeting planning and coordination, including scheduling, logistics, and preparation of agenda and materials for quarterly advisory group meetings
  • Assist in managing email communication with advisory group participants, including invitations, reminders, and follow-up correspondence
  • Support virtual or in-person meeting facilitation, including meeting set up and break down
  • Take comprehensive, detailed notes during meeting sessions
  • Synthesize meeting notes and key meeting themes for approval by Advisory Group Coordinator and larger review by BPHC leadership, as well as dissemination to other relevant DOHMH teams and stakeholders
  • Support other work related to BPHC's advisory groups as assigned by the Advisory Group Coordinator (e.g., recruitment support, data tracking, or related administrative tasks)
  • Ability to report to in-person meetings at any of the City’s clinic locations
  • Experience and comfort communicating professionally with community members and patients
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when engaging with advisory group members and sensitive discussion topics
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with basic data analysis (qualitative and/or quantitative)
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
