TAG Med Staffing is hiring a School Physical Therapist in New York, NY for our client, supporting pediatric physical therapy services for school-aged students during a temporary leave coverage. This role will provide individualized therapy, evaluate student progress, support mobility and positioning needs, and collaborate with families, educators, and multidisciplinary clinical teams. The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist with strong pediatric skills and experience supporting students with varying physical and developmental needs.

Responsibilities as the School Physical Therapist:

• Physical Therapy: Provide individualized physical therapy services based on student needs, treatment plans, and established educational goals.
• Treatment Planning: Develop, implement, and modify therapeutic interventions based on ongoing assessments, functional progress, and student outcomes.
• Mobility Support: Assess mobility, positioning, motor development, orthotic, and adaptive equipment needs to promote safe participation in the school environment.
• Progress Documentation: Maintain accurate therapy notes, evaluations, progress updates, recommendations, and other required student documentation.

  Coordinate with families, educators, clinical professionals, and support staff regarding therapy goals, equipment, mobility, positioning, and student safety.

  Provide guidance and training to school staff on transfers, positioning, mobility assistance, and appropriate use of adaptive equipment.

Qualifications for the School Physical Therapist:

• Education: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred.
• Licensure: Active New York State Physical Therapist license and current registration are required.
• Certification: Pediatric specialty certification or relevant pediatric therapy training is preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of pediatric physical therapy experience is required,particularly within school-based or developmental settings.
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of pediatric mobility, positioning, adaptive equipment, therapeutic interventions, and school-based therapy practices is preferred.
