The Licensed Massage Therapist will provide professional massage and bodywork services to guests in the Zen-inspired spa, ensuring a relaxing and restorative experience that aligns with the hotel’s wellness philosophy. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing a variety of massage techniques based on guest needs, maintaining treatment rooms and equipment, and following established protocols for cleanliness, safety, and confidentiality. The role also involves consulting with guests about their wellness goals, explaining services, recommending appropriate treatments, and supporting stress reduction and overall well-being.
Team members collaborate with spa staff to uphold high service standards, assist with scheduling and guest flow, and contribute to a welcoming environment. This is a part-time, on-site role located in New York, NY.
- Ability to deliver high-quality Customer Service, including clear communication, active listening, and professional, respectful interactions with a diverse clientele.
- Proficiency in Therapeutic Massage techniques, with a focus on promoting relaxation, pain relief, and overall wellness.
- Experience with specialized modalities such as Shiatsu and Body Massage, and the ability to tailor sessions to individual guest needs.
- Skills in Stress Management support, including helping guests relax, reduce tension, and enhance their sense of well-being through massage and related techniques.
- Current state license or certification as a Massage Therapist; formal training from an accredited massage therapy program.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for massage, with a strong commitment to safety and ethical practice.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to spa hygiene, sanitation, and COVID-19 or other health protocols as applicable.
- Reliability in managing a part-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed; prior spa or hospitality experience is a plus.
