Standard weekly hours: 35 hours
Responsibilities- 1. Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, PsyD, EdD) in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA)
accredited program, accepted by the NYSED. - 2. Valid limited permit to practice as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Education Department
(NYSED). - 3. Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED must be obtained
within two (2) years of appointment to title.
Purpose of Position
:
This class of positions encompasses professional and/or supervisory work of varying degrees of difficulty in the field of psychology, providing psychological services to individuals and groups across various settings, including Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinics (FPECC), which may include participation in the process of commitment of patients to institutional care. Ensures patient-centered quality care and services in support of better outcomes and improved patient experience, in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations, and psychology standards of care.
All personnel perform related work.
Under general supervision, with latitude for independent or unreviewed action or decision-making, performs professional work in the field of psychology. Unlicensed individuals must work under the supervision of a New York State licensed and currently registered Psychologist.
