Overview

For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Evaluations — Perform age-appropriate hearing assessments including behavioral audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, otoacoustic emissions, and electrophysiologic measures (A , ASSR).
  • Newborn Hearing Screening & Follow-Up — Conduct screenings and diagnostic evaluations for infants referred from the hospital’s newborn hearing program.
  • Electrophysiologic & Specialized Testing — Complete diagnostic A /ASSR evaluations across the lifespan; support vestibular assessments as part of ENT services (training available).
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Partner with otolaryngologists, pediatric specialists, speech-language pathologists, and other clinical teams to coordinate care.
  • Patient & Family Counseling — Provide clear, developmentally appropriate education regarding hearing status, communication strategies, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Clinical Documentation & Compliance — Maintain accurate EMR documentation and adhere to hospital, state, and professional standards.
Requirements
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology (MA/MS, AuD, or PhD).
  • Current New York State Audiology License (or eligibility).
  • ASHA CCC-A or ABA certification preferred.
  • Experience with pediatric and adult populations strongly preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric rotations are welcome.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and comfort working in a medical environment.

Preferred

Skills:

  • Proficiency with pediatric behavioral testing techniques.
  • Experience with electrophysiologic testing (A /ASSR).
  • Familiarity with cochlear implant candidacy evaluations (training provided).
  • Strong interpersonal communication and counseling skills.
