The Microbiology and Anatomic Pathology Supervisor is a crucial laboratory role for NYP-LMH.
This role is responsible for overseeing the operations of the microbiology and anatomic pathology departments. This includes patient testing, quality control, validations, overseeing the inventory of reagents and supplies for these departments, being compliant with regulatory standards and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. This role will oversee the flow process of the microbiology and anatomic pathology departments. This would include resolving patient or instrument issues that may occur.
There are also key NYP enterprise and local initiatives set in place for this department where this individual will play a key role in implementing. This role will fit as a key piece for the operations of the laboratories. Both the Microbiology and Anatomic Pathology departments play an important role in helping to diagnose patients and providing excellent care to our patients.
The Supervisor of the Microbiology and Anatomic Pathology departments is responsible for overseeing 9 Laboratory Staff members. This is a full time, day shift position, working Monday
- Friday.
Preferred Criteria Previous lead/supervisory experience
Required Criteria Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related science New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License from New York Education Department Meets all requirements of the New York State Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
- Minimum of 4 years’ progressive clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 1 year of experience with a Ph.D.
