Roles and Responsibilities

The Program Manager teaches the principles and practices of recovery, self-help in leading by example while supervising departmental staff in day-to-day activities.

  • Supervise departmental staff members weekly in a departmental staff meeting, evaluates/trains on boarding new departmental staff.
  • Oversee staff daily, provide departmental staff in weekly individual one-on-one meetings.
  • Approve time-off requests, office supply orders and requests to reschedule activities pertinent to work/client relations.
  • Actively ensure all departmental staff members submit a timesheet monthly and that they are receiving their paychecks.
  • Attending South Beach Psychiatric Center (SBPC) staff training, meetings, Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC)/Pre-RAC, AWARDs, and Staten Island Mental Health Counsel (SIMHC) meetings
  • Troubleshoot any (Human Resources Administration) HRA, provider relations, AWARDS, Peat Login, or any other software issues.
  • Ability to generate Health and Community Base Service (HCBS) referrals for clients, attend site visits, audits and any other departmental meetings as needed
  • Various tasks assigned by the supervisor or corporate headquarters that are necessary to meet service contracts.
  • Reports Levels of Service for Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and quarterly demographic report.
  • Make sure staff is maintain/working towards Peer Certification(s), and any other webinars or trainings Corporate/Division Director sees fit
  • Generate write-ups/incident reports when staff is not complying within company standards.
  • Maintain fire drill log, staff scheduling, staff medical documentation.
  • Comply with all guidelines to protect confidential client documentation, maintain DOHMH correspondence.
  • Review clients charts/audit charts for efficiency ensuring staff is maintaining all filing standards.
  • Maintain fire drill log, staff scheduling and coverage when staff members absent.
  • Distribute/maintain Metro Cards, postage stamps, policy/procedure development, petty cash any check requests as needed.
  • Attending managers meetings twice a month relaying any relevant information to departmental staff members.
Qualifications
  • New York State Certified Peer Specialists certification (Active) - or must be Re-certified within 5 months of hiring
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is a must
