Behavioral Health Technician

Job Summary

Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Behavioral Health Technician I in Salem, Missouri. In this full‑time position you will provide direct and supportive care, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. Your role involves monitoring health, facilitating group activities, and responding to crises while supporting clients’ recovery journey.

• Admit, supervise, monitor, transfer, and discharge clients.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to critical symptoms, escalating to medical intervention when necessary.
• Facilitate group rehabilitative support, education, recovery skills, or recreation groups as scheduled and assigned.
• Document and report any exceptional behavior and areas of concern related to client interactions.
• Assist clients with personal care and daily activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of client medications and monitor self‑administration of medications.
• Foster adaptive behavior in clients by encouraging positive social interaction and role‑modeling solutions.
• Participate as an active member of the treatment team, helping to identify client strengths and needs.

• High school education or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment.
• Experience in Human Services or a related field preferred.
• For Residential Care Facility (RCF) positions:
  Become credentialed as a Level 1 Med Aid (LIMA) and be insulin certified within the first ninety (90) days.

• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age to operate a company‑owned vehicle.
• Must be at least twenty‑three (23) years of age to operate a company‑owned fifteen (15) passenger van.

• ADA Consideration – Sedentary work:
  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
