Why You'll Love This Role:

This isn't just data entry, it's a front-row seat to modern ophthalmology. You'll work side-by-side with our ophthalmologists during patient exams, capturing the details that matter and helping keep our clinic running smoothly and efficiently. • Record patient histories, chief complaints, exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Enter ophthalmic test results, imaging reports, and procedure documentation.
  • Prep patient charts ahead of appointments by reviewing prior records and diagnostic testing.
  • Assist with orders for medications, labs, imaging, and referrals as directed by the physician.
  • Keep patient records accurate, complete, and fully HIPAA-compliant.
  • Team up with clinical staff to keep patient flow moving efficiently.
  • Support documentation-related administrative tasks as needed.
  • Stay sharp on ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and EMR best practices.
What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Experience as a medical scribe, ophthalmic technician, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology and anatomy preferred.
  • Comfort with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent typing speed and computer skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • A professional, detail-driven approach and the ability to keep information confidential.
  • The energy and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Bonus Points For:
  • Familiarity with ophthalmic diagnostic testing (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography).
  • Understanding of common eye diseases and treatments.
  • A sharp eye for detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • The instinct to anticipate what your physician needs before they ask.
The Details:
  • Setting: Ophthalmology clinic / specialty eye care practice.
  • Schedule: Full-time, hours based on clinic operations.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand/walk for extended periods, frequent computer use, and occasional lifting up to 15-20 lbs.
