- Maximum): $25.550 - $31.860 - $35.680 The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.

What You Will DoEstablishes and coordinates office coordinator priorities and supervises assigned staff. Ensures effective and efficient systems and processes are utilized to achieve and improve operational outcomes.
Required Qualifications- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- 2 Years experience with patient scheduling, billing, and charge entry.
- 2 Years experience in Unit Clerk role.
- 3 Years experience supervising staff or equivalent.
Customer service and teamwork Greets and makes welcome a variety of customers by the telephone and in person. Obtains information from visitors/callers, directs as appropriate or takes complete and accurate messages. Acts on requests for customer assistance. Uses scripts as appropriate including answering phones, transferring calls and service recovery. Answers call lights within unit/organization time standards, calling into patient rooms to validate request.
Answers phone within 4 rings; transfer calls as indicated. Responds to all inquiries with timeliness that promotes customer satisfaction. Coordinates with physicians and other department team members via paging system or phones. Assists in directing others during crisis interventions (codes, disasters, etc). Communicates effectively with all levels of staff and uses chain of command per unit guidelines.
Department efficiency and effectiveness Maintains organized and orderly patient/work areas throughout department. Orders supplies, forms and equipment, maintains stock per guidelines. Completes requisitions, work orders and obtains necessary authorizations. Manages and operates equipment safely and accurately including troubleshooting and calling for maintenance (e.g. fax, copier, and printer). Managers department resources e.g. keys, signage, badges, phones, parking permits as required. Works with manager to arranges for additional resources (temporary staff, volunteers) to cover vacations, leaves of absences and/or variable workloads and provides supervision/direction.
Finance and billing Assures all patient charges are accurately captured and entered into billing system. Performs charge reconciliation to assure accuracy and avoid delayed or missed charges, and assures other staff entering charges are following appropriate protocol. Supports organizational cost containment. Takes initiative in using time effectively; actively sets priorities and adjusts to unscheduled situations. Accepts responsibility for own actions and outcomes.
Initiates communication with others to ensure job is completed successfully.
Human resource management Maintains appropriate staffing level within assigned area. Hires qualified personnel by working with management, assists in interview process, and hiring decisions. Recognizes individual and team accomplishments. Addresses all personnel behavioral issues via Sharp Health Care's performance evaluation standard. Completes staff appraisals within 30 days of its due date according to SHC performance evaluation standard. Ensures department's efficiency by overseeing the patient scheduling process.
Effectively communicates with direct report staff by holding regularly scheduled meetings. Actively participates in unit staff meetings. Routinely disseminates pertinent information and instructional resources. Addresses employee concerns related to the work environment and process improvement.
Medical records management Ensures that on each medical record, every section for which the clerk has assigned responsibility is ready for efficient use by team members (chart inserts, forms, reports, etc. per department/organization standards).
