Define the patient care experience at New York Presbyterian Hospital Patient Financial Advisor - Patient Access Department: (Admitting, Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Areas, & Adult ED) Night Shift: Monday – Friday 12a-8a (Including Rotating Weekends & Holidays) Make a lasting impression on patients at New York-Presbyterian as a Patient Financial Advisor. The Patient Financial Advisor serves as the patient’s main point of contact and the face of the New York-Presbyterian organization as the patient schedules, is approved for, and registers for treatment. Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Patient Financial Advisor is responsible for scheduling patients for visits, tests, and admissions, registering patients when they arrive, screening for medical necessity, and obtaining necessary pre-certifications and authorizations.

These tasks must be completed with an emphasis on both accuracy, to ensure payment from third parties, and customer service, to foster a positive patient experience. The shift for this position is weekdays and includes weekend rotation.

Preferred Criteria
  • Associates degree
  • Spanish bilingual
Required Criteria
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Experience using electronic health information systems for registration and scheduling

Salary Range: $31.12-$33.32/Hourly
