- Serve as a communications coordinator between Air Methods Communications customers, including aircraft flight crews, pre-hospital health care providers, and qualified callers
- Coordinate flight coordination information, including computer data entry
- Perform flight following from lift-off to touchdown while following FAA and company regulations
- Handle initial public, private, and flight-related calls coming into Air Com
- Facilitate communications between pre-hospital health care providers and receiving institutions
- Promote communication between Communications Specialists, Flight team members, and outside agencies
- Assist in training new employees
- Maintain regular scheduled attendance and perform other duties as assigned
- Work 12-hour shifts, including night shifts starting at 5 p.m., and be on call as required
- High school diploma or GED; and one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-2 years dispatch experience or experience with medical terminology used by Emergency Medical Technician or CNA
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and be on call as required
- Ability to present a professional image on the telephone and radio
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment and maintain strong attention to detail
- Advanced customer service and phone skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude
- Ability to take and relay reports accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Compliance with applicable employee, Air Com, customer, and company policies and procedures
- NAACS, EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-P, CAN, LMT, or Pilot Certificate preferred
Demonstrates strong communication and coordination skills essential for facilitating interactions between flight crews, healthcare providers, and customers. Proficient in multitasking and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment while adhering to FAA regulations.
