Per Diem Optometrist Independent Optical Practice – Bronx, NY

Position Overview

The Optometrist will initially work one day per week on a per diem basis
, with the opportunity to expand to additional days as patient volume and the optical practice grow. This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist looking for a flexible per diem schedule, supplemental income, or the opportunity to become involved in a new practice from its early stages. The practice will provide the exam room, ophthalmic equipment, optical staff support, scheduling, and patient-facing operations.

$600 – $750 per diem

Per diem

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations
• Perform refractions and prescribe corrective lenses
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions within scope of practice
• Perform routine glaucoma and ocular health assessments
• Conduct and/or supervise contact lens evaluations and fittings
• Educate patients regarding eye health and vision care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Collaborate with optical and pharmacy staff to provide an excellent patient experience
• Make appropriate referrals to ophthalmologists and other specialists when necessary
