Overview

For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

The practice of a Physician Assistant shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant that are delegated by the Supervising Physician.

• Medical services rendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to: obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; writing progress notes, procedure notes and monthly care plans, ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals.
• Physician Assistants, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and/or perform any medical and surgical procedures at the hospital for affiliates. An emergency, for these purposes, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administering treatment would result in serious harm to the patient or an immediate threat to life of the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.
• The activities listed above may be performed in any setting authorized by the supervising physician, including but not limited to clinics, hospitals, and other institution settings. In addition to the core skills listed here, PAs will request validation to perform department specific skills.

• Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program.
• Registered as a Physician’s Assistant in New York State NCCPA certified.
• Education Required Level - Bachelor's Degree.
• The position is a rotational schedule hours are (Day 8a-8:30p & Night 8p-8:30a).
