Position

Summary

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for prescription verification (PV1 and PV2), oversight of non-sterile compounded medications, and ensuring safe and compliant dispensing practices. This role is not focused on hands‑on compounding, but rather on validating lab‑prepared compounds, supporting pharmacy technicians, and maintaining operational accuracy and workflow efficiency. This is a fast-paced, execution‑driven position ideal for a pharmacist who is detail‑oriented, operationally strong, and comfortable working across multiple areas of pharmacy workflow.

This position supports overnight operations from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform PV1 and PV2 prescription verification with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Conduct final verification prior to fulfillment and shipment.
  • Review non-sterile compounded preparations for accuracy, labeling, and documentation.
  • Validate formulations prepared by the lab to ensure compliance with internal standards.
  • Ensure compliance with USP and USP guidelines.
  • Support and oversee pharmacy technicians throughout workflow.
  • Maintain efficient processing in a high-volume environment during overnight operations.
  • Identify and resolve verification or processing issues.
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances.
  • Maintain an organized, inspection‑ready pharmacy environment.
  • Communicate updates and outstanding items for operational continuity and smooth shift handoffs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage high-volume prescription workflows.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 12:00 AM–8:00 AM.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a compounding pharmacy environment.
  • Familiarity with USP and USP .
  • Experience with prescription verification workflows (PV1 / PV2).
  • Experience in high-volume pharmacy operations.
