About the Position
Physician Assistant, Critical Care (Locums)
Location:
New York
Schedule:
Rotating days and nights. Typical 13 hour shifts.
Assignment length: 6 to 9 months
Openings: 1
Position Overview
Provide inpatient critical care coverage in a pediatric cardiac intensive care environment.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the multidisciplinary team.
Comfortable managing congenital heart disease patients including complex anatomy and physiology.
Clinical Scope
High acuity pediatric cardiac patients including pre and post operative cardiac surgery patients, arrhythmia management, vasopressor support, pacemakers, ECMO and CRRT.
Role is not primarily procedural, but ICU procedural knowledge is expected.
Required Qualifications
Physician Assistant.
Active New York Physician Assistant license in good standing.
Current national certification as a Physician Assistant.
BLS.
PALS.
Two years of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience.
Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.
