A part Time Day Flex shift (22.5 hrs/wk; 7AM to 8:15PM) position at NYP/Queens Hospital. Every weekend is required for the first 2 years of employment.

As an ED Technician, you will provide compassionate basic patient care and assist with daily living activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will collect data elements and communicate observations and information obtained using various methods and tools to the Registered Nurse (including but not limited to vital signs, surveillance of telemetry, perform EKG's, glucose by finger stick). Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association required PRIOR to start date
• At least one (1) year experience as an EKG Technician, Nursing Attendant or equivalent
• Nursing Attendant certification or previous experience in similar or comparable position required
• Certification in one of the following required:
  • EKG/Arrhythmia certificate
  • Medical technician certificate
  • EMT/ Paramedic certificate
• Must achieve competency in all performance functions (i.e. Telemetry, phlebotomy,) within probationary period

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
