American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a high-volume combined adult/pediatric Level I/II Trauma Center requiring NY licensure and Trauma Level I/II experience.

• Combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department at a Level I/Level II Trauma Center
• ED averages approximately 265 patients per day with 53 rooms
• Patient population ranges from neonates through adults
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM (also listed as 3:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required, with additional weekend shifts based on departmental need
• 36 hours of orientation included
• Documentation via EPIC and medication administration via Omnicell
• 24/7 provider coverage available including NP, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist
• Support services include Interpretation, IV Team, Phlebotomy, PT, Radiology, Rapid Response, Respiratory, Social Services, and Transportation

• Active New York State RN license required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• At least 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Level I and/or Level II Trauma Center experience required
• General Emergency Department experience with both adult and pediatric patients required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Teaching hospital, LTAC, and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in triage, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts/maintenance
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics/sedation, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with procedural sedation monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and intubation
• Experience with CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and hypothermia protocols
• Experience managing gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and orthopedic trauma
• Experience with pediatric abdominal pain, infections, respiratory infections, and seizures
• Experience managing acute psychosis, drug overdose, psychiatric holds, and violent behavior
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• COVID vaccination required with no exceptions

• Provide direct emergency care to a wide patient population ranging from neonates to adults
• Required to wear Hunter Green scrubs
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• No specific radius restriction noted beyond local acceptance
• RTO limited to 5 days or less, with no time off permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Previous NYU permanent staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Employee parking provided at no cost through assigned garage; street parking also available
