Job Description Join Our Mission:
Individualized, Multi-Disciplinary Education for Students with Autism We are seeking a passionate and dedicated ASHA-certified, NYS-licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our private school team in a highly supportive, interdisciplinary environment. Our mission is to significantly increase student independence by integrating functional communication skills into daily routines. What You've Do:
  • Focus on Functional Communication
  • Direct Impact:

    Work alongside classroom teachers, support services, and ABA instructors in a collaborative push-in model
  • AAC Expertise:

    Develop and implement communication goals using a range of methods, includingstatic visuals, high-tech devices (e.g., iPads), and a modified total communication approach
  • Goal Areas:

    Facilitate skills across receptive/expressive language, pragmatics, motor speech, oral-sensory-motor skills, and feeding
  • Small Caseloads:

    Manage a small caseload to ensure quality therapy time, material development, and clear student progress
  • Documentation:

    Lead annual testing, bi-annual report writing, and IEP development; monitor student progress via weekly data sheets
  • Collaboration:

    Implement behavior plans with support from our ABA team
Schedule & Benefits

Hours:

Full-time hours are Monday – Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM. It is a 12-month program with paid school vacations.

Salary:

Competitive, based on years of experience and supervisory history (details for new CCC-SLPs available upon request).

Professional Growth:

Opportunities to earn CEUs are offered, training in AAC methods

Required Qualifications
  • Certification:
    Salary listed is for CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from ASHA. CFY candidates can apply but must have previous experience with students on the Autism Spectrum.
  • License:
    Must be NYS Licensed.
  • Credential:
    Must hold the TSSLD certification (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities).
Highly Beneficial Skills
  • Experience working with students with an ASD diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of basic sign language.
  • Knowledge of programming AAC apps.
  • Knowledge of oral-sensory-motor exercises and feeding.
