Somatic Psychotherapy Center is a private-pay group practice with offices in Brooklyn and Manhattan, offering somatic and trauma-informed therapy. Our clinicians work with Hakomi, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, IFS, EMDR, and relational Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
Our clients are often capable, self-aware people who understand their patterns and still feel stuck. They come to us for what talk therapy alone hasn't reached. We work slowly, relationally, and in the body, at a pace each nervous system can trust.
Our offices are bright, plant-filled, and genuinely lovely to spend a day in. The team is warm and close, and we get together in person regularly. This is not a practice where clinicians work in isolation.
The roleWe're looking for a somatic therapist to carry a caseload of individual clients across our Brooklyn and Manhattan offices and virtually.
You would be:
- Carrying a caseload of individual clients, working experientially and in the body
- Tracking nervous system responses in real time and pacing the work accordingly
- Holding the full clinical picture: assessment, treatment planning, and documentation
- Participating in team consultation and ongoing training
- Supporting KAP clients through preparation, medicine sessions, and integration, or training toward that
- A generous fee split, 50/50 for fully licensed clinicians
- A generous continuing education stipend
- Referrals and intake handled for you
- Weekly team consultation and a genuinely collaborative team culture
- Private pay, so no insurance panels and no utilization review
- Beautiful offices in Brooklyn and Manhattan
- LMHC or MHC-LP in New York
- Training in at least one somatic modality (Hakomi, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy) is required, not preferred
- Experience or training in KAP, or clear interest in developing it
- Experience with couples work is a plus
- Real comfort with trauma, attachment, and nervous system regulation
- Grounded presence, clear boundaries, and the ability to stay with intensity without rushing toward resolution
- Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive practice
- Reliability with documentation and scheduling
- Genuine interest in being part of a close-knit, growing team
