Environment

This position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Queens Village. Here, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The facility is designed for both effectiveness and comfort, allowing therapists and patients to engage in meaningful interactions that facilitate recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, assessing their physical capabilities, limitations, and needs in a variety of orthopedic contexts.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans that incorporate a range of therapeutic modalities, including manual therapy techniques, exercise programs, and the use of specialized equipment.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to administer treatment while closely monitoring patient progress and reactions.
  • Document treatment sessions meticulously, ensuring accurate records of patient responses to therapy and progress toward treatment goals.
  • Continuously reassess therapeutic goals, adapting treatment plans as necessary to address changing patient needs.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and family members about rehabilitation techniques, assistive device usage, and preventive strategies to promote sustained health and wellness.
  • Stay current with the latest physical therapy advancements by attending workshops and engaging in professional development opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will interact with a diverse range of patients, from young athletes recovering from sports injuries to older adults undergoing rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery. Your expertise will be crucial in tailoring your approach to meet the specific needs of each patient, ultimately contributing to their recovery and improving their functional abilities.

Qualifications
  • A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
  • A valid New York State license to practice physical therapy.
  • A strong foundation in orthopedic rehabilitation, with at least two years of professional experience in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective patient interaction and professional collaboration.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in documentation software and electronic health records.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to patient care, allowing for personalized treatment plans.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a rehabilitation facility or home care setting is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with the latest rehabilitation technologies and methods.
  • Experience working collaboratively within healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
