WorkEnvironment
This role is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center in Cooperstown, NY. The facility is equipped with modern therapeutic equipment and resources essential for effective physical therapy interventions. As part of our team, you will work in a supportive atmosphere that encourages continuous learning and professional development. The center is designed to promote a patient-centered approach, ensuring a comfortable and healing environment for the clientele.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to identify their physical capabilities, needs, and limitations, utilizing advanced assessment tools.
- Develop customized therapy plans based on patient assessments that focus on improving strength, mobility, and everyday functionality.
- Implement a variety of therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and specialized modalities designed to reduce pain and enhance recovery.
- Continuously monitor patient progress, documenting outcomes meticulously, and adjust treatment strategies as needed to ensure optimal recovery.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, which includes physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care and holistic treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and self-management techniques to support healing and encourage adherence to therapy.
- Stay compliant with all regulatory requirements and maintain high professional standards to ensure the quality of care delivered.
Your primary focus will be on enriching the lives of our residents, many of whom are geriatrics and individuals recovering from surgery or managing chronic conditions. By creating tailored therapy programs, you will empower these individuals to regain independence and improve their quality of life through effective rehabilitation strategies.
Qualifications- A valid and current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York state.
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Master's degree or Doctorate in the field is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with a diverse range of patients and their families.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for providing valuable patient interactions and teamwork.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in rehabilitation settings, particularly in skilled nursing facilities, is considered advantageous.
- Experience working with geriatric populations or individuals with complex health challenges will be prioritized.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development through workshops and certifications.
