Location: New York
The McBurney YMCA is seeking a Massage Therapist who will offer safe and effective therapeutic massage/bodywork to address members' specific needs and contribute to their total wellness. The role requires a self‑starter with excellent customer service, adherence to YMCA protocols and the field’s Code of Ethics.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a high level of service regarding members’ needs, concerns, and questions about the YMCA, its programs and mission.
- Perform massage therapy to relieve stress, reduce aches/pains and enhance overall well‑being.
- Exhibit knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, myology, pathology, somatic, ethics, various massage/bodywork modalities and apply accordingly.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients/members.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of work areas per local, state and federal health and safety regulations.
- Collect receipts from members and submit them weekly.
- Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services offered.
- Be punctual for all appointments and maintain necessary records per HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications and continuing education hours.
- Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings.
- Support community and promotional events as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Massage Therapist.
- Valid New York State massage therapy license required.
- Adult CPR/First Aid/AED.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
