a clinical position working with adults or children (according to training) providing a variety of treatment modalities, intake interviewing, and psychodiagnostic assessments. Participates in training clinical psychology interns and practicum students.

- carries a caseload of adult patients as assigned, using a variety of clinical treatment modalities including individual, group, and family psychotherapy, and other intervention techniques. Demonstrates proficiency in utilization of professional skills in treatment of mental disorders. Where position entails special skills such as behavioral techniques, utilization is appropriate and proficient. Provides treatment with awareness of ethical and humane considerations. Makes timely home visits to patients when clinically indicated
- conducts psychodiagnostic assessments, writes reports, and presents findings to other staff. Psychodiagnostic reports are organized, lucid and relevant. Reports reflect ability to make diagnostic differentiations
- available to interdisciplinary team for psychodiagnostic consultation; discusses with staff making request specific problem to be assessed
- determines appropriate psychodiagnostic instrument for determinations
- maintains appropriate patient records as required by law and mmc policies and procedures
- seeks other treatment resources for patient when indicated, either in other units within the community mental health center (cmhc) or outside agencies; communicates with other professionals regarding such referrals and does necessary paperwork
- functions as a member of a clinical interdisciplinary team and does intake interviewing as a member of that team
- participates in clinical and administrative meetings of assigned team
- participates in unit policy planning and implementation
- provides clinical supervision to psychology interns and externs and to psychiatry residents as assigned. Becomes aware of supervisee's deficiencies and works collaboratively to remedy them. Evaluations of students' performance are conducted in a timely manner and are valid
- patient care responsibilities are delivered with a knowledge of patient growth and development and are appropriate to the ages of the patients served
