Casac Counselor
This role involves providing direct counseling services within a behavioral health setting. Located in Long Island City, NY, this full-time position requires a dedicated professional to support patients in their recovery journey through individual and group counseling. The ideal candidate will have experience in behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment programs.
Provide individual counseling and prepare treatment/recovery plans. Facilitate daily activities, community meetings, and treatment planning. Engage in therapeutic interactions to enhance patients' social, cognitive, and behavioral skills. Supervise milieu staff and provide psychosocial interventions. Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Plan and facilitate interactions to improve social and emotional functioning. Maintain detailed case records.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing. LMSW/LMHC preferred. Minimum two years of experience in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program.
