Location: Port Jefferson Station
Job Description:
The Recreation Aide will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on Resident's individual abilities and preference to encourage and promote Resident participation. Successful candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents.
Responsibilities:- Complies with and interprets the philosophy, objectives, procedures, policies and code of ethics of the facility ad the policies of the Recreational Therapy Department
- Documents Resident attendance/participation daily
- Maintain care and use of program equipment and materials
- Conduct therapeutic activities on and off-unit as scheduled
- Develop, implement, and adapt therapeutic recreation program relevant to Resident's needs and interests
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation
Qualifications:
- Must be a team player with compassionate, outgoing and pleasant personality
- Must be computer literate and possess strong organizational skills
- Education Entry Level (0-2 years)
- Experience High School Diploma/GED
