At PDS Optical
, we are committed to delivering exceptional eyewear and outstanding service to our Veterans. We're seeking an experienced optician to join our team as a travel optician out of the Manhattan, NY VA and help us uphold our mission of providing GREAT Veteran CARE! Travel would be anywhere in the United States and US Territories. Anticipated travel time would be 80%+.

Position Details:

• Full-time core hours | Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Weekend travel required
• Pay Range: $32-$35/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to Veterans.
• Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
• Work collaboratively to foster a positive and productive environment.
• Comply with security clearance requirements by successfully passing a background check.
• Travel to various locations as required without exception.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Licensed Optician
• Must have ABO Certification
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Skilled in fitting, adjusting, repairing, and selling eyewear.
• Proficient in using lensometers, pupilometers, and computers.
• Knowledge of VA benefits and discounts for optical services.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and customer focused.
